Winter athletics still under threat of COVID-19
The winter athletics season has already had its first setback, losing two weeks when the school closed. No practices were allowed in the school during this time, and many athletes lost important conditioning. Athletic director Kevin Sims says that the precautions that were enforced in the fall, will also apply to winter sports. “I am afraid that the indoor sports may have even more issues. Enclosed areas are usually part of any virus growing in numbers,” said Sims. While Delphi Community School Corporation still plans to have a winter sports season, safety is still being taken seriously and events have the potential of being cancelled.
