Math classes face challenges during virtual learning

As of Oct. 27, DCSC schools are closed for two weeks for virtual learning. Coming right at the beginning of the new nine weeks, this change has affected how teachers were able to present new material. From the perspective of a student, learning from home is making classes more difficult, especially in terms of math, where material must be explained and practiced to be retained. This problem can be felt from the teacher’s side as well. “Teaching virtually is challenging for me because my normal teaching relies on a high degree of interaction with students,” stated Ms. Doyle. This, of course, isn’t possible during virtual learning. According to Mrs. Stankard, “Flexibility is key.” Going forward, the administration is hoping to have students back in the classroom by Nov. 11.
