A Very Large Expanse of Sea

A Very Large Expanse of Sea by Tahereh Mafi has been added to my list of favorites. This book is filled with so many highlightable lines and thoughts. You follow the story line through the eyes of sophomore Shirin, a Muslim American, a year after 9/11. It tackles so many themes such as racism, love, and happiness as Shirin battles all of them at once. This book is very beautifully written and has something for everyone.
