Community wide blood drive for Alex
On Jan. 16, Delphi Community High School hosted a community blood drive. Anyone from the community could donate, and all of the Delphi club presidents congregated to find ways to spread the word. In total, our community donated 39 units of blood, with 9 being double red. Over 15 adults in our town came in and donated. The school partnered with Versiti Blood Center to set this drive into motion. This plan came to fruition because of our very own student: Alex Milburg. Alex has needed units of blood to get healthy and recover from his illness. In return, DCHS decided to replenish the state’s blood bank and host a blood drive. This will be an annual event, along with the two school blood drives that have become standard practice. The next school blood drive will be April 1, hosted by NHS.
