SADD
Students Against Destructive Decisions is a national club that challenges young people to confront the risks and decisions that they face in high school. As the name suggests, the club spreads awareness of dangers to teens such as driving while under the influence, texting and driving, using drugs, underage drinking, and vaping.
Specifically, the Delphi SADD Chapter raises student awareness about these risks through multiple events during the school year. They decorate the school for Red and Orange Ribbon Week, and bring in different speakers to educate students throughout the year. They hold an annual blood drive, and plan and host the Homecoming Dance in October. SADD president Megan Kelly says that students should join SADD because it gets kids involved. “Kids get to learn more about how their decisions impact themselves and others in situations. They also learn how to prevent others from making the wrong choice.”
