FFA hosts annual Pumpkin Patch
The Pumpkin Patch is an event that the FFA has hosted for kindergartners in the Delphi Community School Corporation for the last 15 years.
The FFA prepared ahead of time for the event by planting pumpkins. They were able to use 40 of their own pumpkins, but that wasn’t even close to enough. They had to buy 200 more pumpkins and almost all of them were used.
The FFA arranged 4 different stations for the little kids to enjoy. Kindergartner Aiden Lance said, “I like the hay bale ride.” The young kids went on a hay ride around the school. Then they could pick out a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch (AKA just the ground), draw on it, and bring it home. They are also provided a coloring book as well as cookies and juice.
The goal of this activity is to get kids involved and interested in FFA as well as giving them something to do over fall break. The kindergartners enjoyed this outreach of kindness. Ethan Black particularly enjoyed the “Pumpkins, cookies, and juice!”
The FFA does a great job cultivating the fall spirit among youngsters by providing the annual Pumpkin Patch.
