The spring sports have finally arrived and Delphi athletics have been dominating. The baseball team (6-2) started off their 2017 season with a stellar performance against hometown rival Carroll Cougars. The Oracle underclassmen showed their worth in plate appearances during this outing. Cade Murray, junior, went 2-2 at the plate bringing across one run for the Oracles. Freshman Jayden McClain, in his first varsity start, went 1-1 at the plate with one RBI. Others contributing to the 19-5 victory over Carroll were seniors Jacob Clouser, Kain Myer, and Dalton Briles, and sophomore Aaron Webb, all having two RBIs in the game. The next game for the Oracles is Thursday, April 20 against Northwestern at 5 p.m.
Just down the road, the 7-2 Lady Oracles softball team faced off against the Lady Cougars on Monday, April 17.  The Lady Oracles easily defeated the Cougars 12-2. Kayla Fogarasi, senior, went deep for the Lady Oracles with a three run homerun adding up her RBIs to four runs scored. Katherine Lang, junior, contributed to the team by going 3-3 at the plate and bringing home three runs. Also with an impressive night at the plate, senior Rylee Lane went 2-2 with one RBI.  The Lady Oracles look to improve their record on Thursday, April 20 as they face off against Northwestern Tigers.
