How to help your community this Christmas

In normal years, there are many opportunities for students to participate in local community service, especially around the holidays. The FFA helps with Christmas baskets, a program that gives food to people in need in our community. The French Club goes to SIA to help with their annual Breakfast with Santa. The Courthouse always has the Angel Tree for the Salvation Army. However, this year, due to COVID, these events and opportunities are not taking place. This year, if you want to help the community, you could donate to the Salvation Army or the food pantry. You could also write letters to the people in the nursing homes. Another thing you could do is something as simple as giving money to Santa ringing a bell at the mall. Even with COVID cancelling the big volunteer events, there are still ways to give to the community.
