Delphi introduces Education Professions

This year, our school has adopted a new course called Education Professions. This course, taught by DCHS graduate Jordan Dowell, is a two period class where the students spend most of their time at DCES working with elementary school classes. The class is open to anyone who has previously taken child development, so it is mostly made up of juniors and seniors. Right now, the focus is on observing the teachers in the elementary school and performing basic teaching tasks, such as grading papers, decorating bulletin boards, and reading a story to the class. The goal this semester is for students to develop their own teaching philosophy. According to Ms. Dowel, ā€œIā€™m planning for a fun and exciting year, and I hope my students are just as excited as I am.ā€
