Some Fun In Book Club

In response to the low turnout for Battle of the Books last year, Ms. Lawton decided to form a book club instead. Seventeen students and three teachers joined the club, which held its first meeting on Thursday, Dec. 6. The first book they are reading is If You Come Softly by Jacqueline Woodson, and it is about two star-crossed lovers. Well-known Indiana young adult author John Green is hosting a book club using the same novel which is why Ms. Lawton chose this novel first. John Green’s discussion opens online on Dec. 17, and Delphi’s book club has their own discussion date set for Dec. 20. In the next meeting the members will be choosing a name for their club and their next book. They are still accepting members and all book lovers are welcome.
