Delphi Band Hosts Annual Christmas Concert

On Wednesday, Dec. 5, the band had their annual Christmas concert. In the middle of the theatre they had ornaments to sell to raise money for the band. The band is getting ready for their trip to Florida in March, so they’ve been fundraising by making ornaments, working concessions at basketball games, and working Monical’s tip night.  The concert was comprised of the middle school and high school bands. Each band played 3-4 songs, and the high school played one of their contest pieces, “Christmas Meditation.”

This concert was unlike the usual concerts, because each time a group was finished playing a song, a different grade played from somewhere else in the room. The band not only had music stands on the stage, but they had them up and down the stairs. This created a very unique atmosphere that had yet to be created at Delphi. Mr. Dennison timed each transition perfectly so that the audience was never waiting on an individual band to get ready. At the end of the concert, the bands all combined to play the holiday classic, “12 Days of Christmas.”
