Imagine this: you are eight years old again. You arrive home from school, grab a cookie and a juice box from your babysitter, sit down on the couch, turn on the TV and… What show is playing?

Disney Channel

“I’m *insert name-here* and you’re watching Disney Channel!” If you were a Disney kid, such as ourselves, you know this slogan by heart. We can all remember the good ol’ days of Dylan and Cole Sprouse and Raven Symone holding up the sparkling wand to draw the famous mouse ears, and who could forget that random announcer guy saying what show would be up next? Erika Ross, senior, was a big fan of Kim Possible, and Jenna Bieghler, senior, loved Hannah Montana. As for us? Ariel: That’s So Raven and Lizzie McGuire. Bella: Lilo & Stitch and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.

Nickelodeon

N-n-n-n-n-nick-nick-nick! Nickelodeon! The best Saturday morning cartoons were found on this channel, including the shows for the toddlers (Blue’s Clues, anyone?) As for the shows that eight-year olds enjoy, some Delphi students were able to shed some light on the subject. Brayden Wade, sophomore, and Ensley Circle, freshman, both enjoyed watching Danny Phantom. Charley Fischer, senior, fondly remembered the time of CatDog. And of course, Megan Dunning, freshman, and Joey Money, sophomore, enjoyed Spongebob Squarepants. Us too, guys. Us too. (Just for nostalgia purposes, Jimmy Neutron and The Fairly Odd Parents were great shows also!)

Cartoon Network

Out of all of the TV channels we got, Cartoon Network was obviously the favorite, and who can blame our students? Cartoon Network was entertainment gold. For senior Xander Brown, Ed, Edd, n’ Eddy was where television was at. Seth Mesaros, junior, would help solve crimes with Scooby Doo. Colton Britton, senior, was entertained, and terrified, by Courage the Cowardly Dog. Freshmen Michael O’Neil and Aden Sinks enjoyed Ben 10 and Teen Titans, respectively. Last but not least, a show for the ages, Pokemon, was a favorite for senior Ethean Money.
Thanks for sharing your favorite shows with us! It’s always a pleasure looking back on our childhood favorites.
