The Varsity Quiz Bowl team poses with their coaches.

Quiz Bowl is a competition in which two teams compete to answer questions from all areas of knowledge including history, literature, science, fine arts, current events, sports, and popular culture. Delphi High School is fortunate to have their very own Quiz Bowl team coached by math teacher Mr. Milligan and science teacher Mrs. Lee.

“The Delphi Quiz Bowl Team is a diverse group of students who use their unique knowledge bases to compete in ‘team Jeopardy’ style games,” said Coach Milligan. The team has been practicing twice a week since September. All of their hard work obviously paid off considering the varsity team made it to the Small School National Championship Tournament.

The Varsity Quiz Bowl squad consists of four members freshmen Xander Brown, sophomore Brody Little, junior Isaac Miller, and senior Ben Beeks, who unfortunately can not compete in Nationals due to a conflicting schedule with the Track team. They will be travelling to Minneapolis, Minnesota  to compete with 50 other teams. Brody Little, a sophomore at Delphi High School, admitted, “We were all surprised that we made it this far in the season. It’s an honor to make it to nationals and the three of us are excited to represent Delphi. We hope to do well.” The team will compete all day Saturday, May 3 and Sunday, May 4. The competition will be held at the Hilton Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport Mall of America.
