Students 4 Progress busy serving the community

Delphi Community High School’s Students 4 Progress club was formed with the sole  purpose of providing opportunities for students to give back to the community. Mr. Barry, DCHS English teacher, started this club and chose six students to help it–Chase Cripe, Lexi Smith, Evan Atkinson, Kolby Myer, Nick Disinger, and Emma Carpenter.

Throughout the year these members of Students 4 Progress have been giving back to the community as much as possible. They have helped younger students with their studies, helped with concessions, run the clocks at sporting events, and helped with the Methodist church’s events.

“I have had the incredible opportunity to work with a group of students who are excited about changing this community. These young people have surprised me at every turn with their compassion and willingness to help others. It has truly been a great experience to see so many students who want to make a difference in their community, ” said Mr. Barry.

The club has started to think of new projects that they would be able to do around the community. Their next project is going to be a community dinner held at the Delphi United Methodist Church on Feb. 20.

Students 4 Progress is full of new and exciting ideas. They plan on doing multiple projects that will benefit the community. If you would like to help out this club, and have some good community service ideas please contact one of the six student leaders listed above or Mr. Barry.
