Cheer block triggers school spirit

The LewNatics have been the loud and proud 6th man for the Oracle basketball all season.

Louder than us? Doubt it. The Lewnatics or the O-Zone, no matter the name, they promise to be louder than you.

As Delphi’s athletics have grown through the years so has the student support at the events. The past few years have been witness to extreme growth in the size of our student section. It used to take up only half of one of the smaller sections in our gym, now it stretches across one of the largest portions of our gym from the top all the way down to courtside.

The ringleaders of this great uprising of the student supporters are seniors Chase Cripe, Daniel Layman, and junior Braden Abbot. Chase commented, “The three of us had this vision of what we wanted the student section to be like. We remembered how things were when we were younger with “Mac’s Maniacs” and that was our end goal. Never did we think things would blow up like they have and we would gain this much support.” These students and all the others that helped drive this change have made a huge difference in our level of school spirit.

This movement is all summed up by Chase in one line,  “We created a monster, the best student section in the area.”
