Tyron Watson Advances to Semi-State

Delphi grappler Tyron Watson, junior, advanced to this weekend’s semi-state wrestling tournament after easily winning the regional competition. With a total time of seven minutes and thirteen seconds of wrestling on Saturday, Watson made regionals look easy. Watson wrestled a total of three matches which all resulted in a pin. This Saturday, Feb. 11, Watson will journey to Semi-State, held at East Chicago Central, accompanied by only coaches, family, and friends. Watson will wrestle against teams that are coming in from the regionals held at Logansport, Crown Point, Calumet, and Rochester. Watson will be seeing tough competitors, but will surely rise to the challenge at hand. The tournament begins at 9 pm central time and will most likely run for the duration of the day.
