NFL Playoffs Begin

Whether you like the Super Bowl or just the commercials that play during it, the journey toward determining the best team in the country has begun. Each conference has begun their journey to the top, but only one team will bring home the trophy.

In the NFC, the Green Bay Packers played the New York Giants. Green Bay promptly put the Giants right out of the tournament with an astounding 38 – 14 victory. Along with that victory came a twitter-worthy throw from Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers launching a spectacular hail mary to Randall Cobb in the endzone to end the half. Also in the NFC, the Seattle Seahawks eliminated the Detroit Lions 26 – 6. The next games to be played for the NFC are the Seahawks battling the Atlanta Falcons Saturday, Jan. 14, and Green Bay facing off against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, Jan. 15.

On the other side of the bracket, the AFC is full of champion-worthy teams. Earlier last week the Oakland Raiders fell to the Houston Texans  27 – 14 and the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Miami Dolphins 30 – 12. Games coming up this week will feature the New England Patriots, hoping to add another ring this season, against the Houston Texans on Saturday. In the final AFC match up, the Steelers will try to steamroll over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday to bring yet another Super Bowl title to the City of Steel.
