April the Giraffe
Have you been wondering why everyone is just zoned into their laptops watching a fat giraffe walk around? Here’s why. On Feb. 23, in Harpursville, New York, Animal Adventure park started a live stream of April the Giraffe. The stream went worldwide and April was famous within days! She now has her own website, emojis, text notifications, sponsors, social media, and store. Shortly after the live stream was posted, animal rights activists claimed it was “sexually explicit” and they were forced to take it down. But reassure, it was put back up shortly after.
April has been pregnant for about 15 months now and many say they can see the baby kicking around inside. She has been ready to pop for 2 weeks now with millions tuned in cheering her on. She has three children already and now is preparing for her fourth. The father to the baby, Oliver, is in the cage next to her. Once the calf is born, the park will be holding a contest for the name.
