Fun activities for fall

The breeze is constantly blowing. The sound of orange leaves crunches underneath your feet. Autumn is in the air, and it is the perfect weather for outdoor activities. The temperature is not miserably hot or cold making the most comfortable attire jeans and a light jacket or hoodie.

Fall always seems to be the busiest, and fastest, season. This is because most of us take this wonderful season for granted. This year, why not take advantage of this beautiful time of year before it disappears into a cold, dreary winter, and get out there and enjoy it.

When you think of fall, what all do you think of? One of the main things that comes to mind around here would be corn. Delphi is lucky enough to be close to Northwest Indiana’s Largest Corn Maze, Exploration Acres. This maze is located just South of Lafayette. Not only is there an 8 mile, 18-acre maze made from corn, there are many other activities offered there. You can practice on a mini-maze made from hay bales, show off your speed at a pedal car race track, fire a corn cannon, dive into a giant mound of hay, and rent a fire pit for a bonfire with your friends and family. Exploration Acres also offers a haunted maze, Indiana Fields of Fear, and a pumpkin patch.

Haunted mazes aren’t the only spooky activities around Delphi during the fall. Hawkins Manor, Delphi’s own haunted house located just across from the high school, is sure to scare on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. Another nearby Halloween festivity, Lafayette Haunted Theater, is a terrifying haunted, historic theater guaranteed to scare!

All these activities, and many more, can make for a memorable autumn evening. Whether it’s a night with friends, or trick-or-treating with family, make sure to have fun, be safe, and keep warm!
